I don't know about you-but I always thought that First Savings Bank (on Second btw Wells and Williams Street) had some pretty good looking buildings that they could be proud of, but no. One of them is getting the shaft - made redundant (too many of us know how THAT feels) and is getting torn down, brick by brick today. The banner near the construction site states that all this demolition work is to make way for a new "Loan Center". Wow - I guess that makes it a little more clear. With the crappy economy, the previous building was certainly not going to be big enough for all of us to fit into when we start gathering at the doorstep for the "loans" we will all be needing to replace our lost incomes.
