wormy and squirmy came to rest upon a cake

wanna make some of these graveyard delights?

First -
use a cake mix, follow the directions for cupcakes, but put some LUV into it girls, add chocolate milk instead of water, or buttermilk and when it comes to the oil - maybe use that stuff we call butter

Then -
take an 8oz of cream cheese (okay, this could be lowfat), room temperature, and half a bag of semisweet chocolate chips that you have melted carefully on a double boiler on the stove. whip together, add a teaspoon of vanilla for good measure, and approx. 3 cups of powdered sugar. frost right away.

Decorate -
with crumbled oreo cookies (about 7, without the creamy middles), and some gummi sour worms. makes it look like death warmed over at the cemetery.

Flat Moogie will be visiting madlycreative for a few days - so stay tuned to her crazy antics. she is from the south - who knows what that might end up being...

More Halloween decorations to die for

More Halloween haunting to be found on Williams Ave. N. between 3rd and 4th. Can you stand it? This is just next door to the house of the Shlegel's that I featured yesterday. Whew - is there ever a lot of Halloween Spirit in that part of town!

I never realized that a sitting gargoyle could be so cute and attractive to me. Either my standards are getting lower or I am just getting that much closer to the undead.

Never too many pumpkins in my estimation.

Okay, so you know that you and the kids are just gonna have to come over to this block a week from this Saturday and check this all out, right? Because I have one more house to feature on this very block before I am done. So hold onto those witch and warlock hats - we are just beginning our Halloween neighborhood flight.

Renton prepares with ghouls and gobblins

I want to take you to the scary side of Renton town - to places where people go to see the true spirit of Halloween, and more than just getting a handful of treats, where they go to get a little ... scared.

This is the Schlegel home on Williams, between 3rd and 4th, in North Renton. Every year, their yard looks a little bit more creepy than the year before. Even though the yard is full and the lights are up, Todd Schlegel assures me that there will be more to come before October 31st arrives.

Put this neighborhood on your destination list this upcoming Saturday after next. It will be ghoulish fun and laughter for all ages. Adjoining houses have also gotten the decorating bug. I will show photos of those homes in the next blog or two, so stay tuned.

Many of the special yard decorations are handmade - like this ever so cute guillotine. How very charming.

Creepy children in masks walk the lawn in anticipation of your arrival.

The undead await your presence gleefully.

Here are two inhabitants of the Halloween House - Meera and Mason Schlegel. They love the holidays and hope you come over and have some fun. The house will be "haunted" for Halloween. There might be mischief and mayhem abrew here. Please come by.

The Schlegels, Todd and Christy, when not celebrating the holidays in such great style, run a pet walking and daycare business called "Rain or Shine Pet Care". Hit the link and check them out.
