I might not be blogging as much lately, but I am keeping up on my cupcake lore. Renton River Days and the fourth are soon to be upon us, and Crystal Roberts over at Common Ground Coffee and Cupcakes has already got a patriotic and sweet delicacy on hand.

These beauts are fresh blueberry cupcakes with a vanilla bean buttercream topped with a red cherry or a blueberry with red sprinkles. Ahhhh, makes me love being American. Land of the free, home of the cupcakes.

As usual, get them while you can. I will try to be back in the blogging chair more often again. Sometimes life just creeps up on you, and a breather here and there never did a person harm.

Lady Liberty Cupcakes

What could be more patriotic than a vanilla cupcake with red, white and blue butter cream frosting? These special Memorial Day treats will be available through Monday, certain to bring a smile and smacking of lips to anyone lucky enough to score one.

Cupcake Queen, Crystal Roberts, is at it again. Never one to let a holiday go by without some new cupcake delight, The Picaroon is always ready and available for photo taking and general customer quality control. You wouldn't have it any other way, now would you? Cuz I am certain I wouldn't.

How Cupcakes and Fire Mix

Cuteness over cupcakes continues. I am a girl and therefore, I cannot help myself. The lovely Miss Rachel and Miss Crystal, cupcake mavens of the Common Ground Coffee and Cupcakes, were seen delivering 2 dozen assorted frosted yummies to the Renton Fire and Emergency Dept. yesterday afternoon, and we got to take a peek.

I saw Lange, the owner of Common Ground, at the meeting which was held at the Eagles on Wednesday night by the Fire Dept. to discuss the fire that had struck on Wells Ave nearly two weeks ago. He must have overheard them say how good ( so true!) his cupcakes at the shop looked. The firemen must have wondered if their cupcakes prayers would be answered.

I am certain that the guys workout more than the average Rentonite, so it is safe to give them all of those tasty, frosted treats. In my house, I nor the cupcakes would be safe. And that is all that I feel free to divulge at this moment.

Crystal Roberts, our cupcake maven extraordinaire, says that this Marshmallow Frosting is probably the best stuff to grace the Common Ground's cupcakes to date.

Here is Rachel, the creator of the marvelous Marshmallow Frosting with one of her creations. This flavor sells out as soon as they make it - but have no fear. This is a flavor of cupcakes they intend to keep around awhile.

Pineapple Upside Down at the Common Ground

You know I love to bake them - and now I have my own line of hats to dine out and eat them in. This is a delicious Common Ground Coffee and Cupcakes strawberry delicacy with my lovely model wearing my very own Cupcake Hat (adult size for the child within all of us), the pattern for which you can find here for free.
You need to scamper over there to Common Ground soon - they have a new flavor of cupcake - Pineapple Upside Down Cake, and within the next two weeks will be hosting a little party to celebrate their second year in our little burg. Hang (the owner) and Crystal were there today, giggling over our cupcake shennanigans - just the sort of people we like - they understand why you would need a hat to match your favorite desert.
