I want to be artistic - lash out with a journalistic force to be reckoned with - or not. Just depends on the day, the amount of rain and if I get out of bed at a reasonable hour.
I share my photos with you, but these aren't yours - so be nice, don't steal them. Unless otherwise noted, these are my handiwork and you need to ask if you want to use them. So thank you for appreciating my efforts - and towing the line of civility and good manners (wink)
Celebrating a year of coffee and community tomorrowat Liberty Cafe. Mike Moskowitz's shop at the top of South Third Street has brought a sense of home to the Downtown Renton corridor. Open from 7am til 9pm, this has become the local hang. Art shows each month, First Friday Block Parties, Magic Night on Mondays and now Open Mike on Wednesdays, Liberty Cafe is a place to be.

RentonOffleash Dog Park Grand Celebration Saturday, Sept.19 from 10 am till 12 noon
If you weren't at S. Third and Main last night - you should have been, shame on you. It was a Rockin' Renton scene, to be sure, and the turnout was great right from the git go.
Happy Delusions"Meet the Artist" night colluded with Liberty Cafe'sGrand Opening Celebration, and the outcome was more like a Block Party, and it was good.
Mary Clymer, Happy Delusions owner, has been trying to get the other businesses on both sides of her block on S. Third to commit to having such gatherings every Third Thursday of the month. Give people a destination out at night to our historic downtown corridor and add some flair to our local "scene".
Now the neighbor's of S.Third can see for themselves what a monthly Block Party would be like, maybe they will be more ready to commit. It was a success and I think would add a greatly needed dimension to out local evening options.
Co-Owners Mike Moscowitz and Johnny Uysalof theLiberty Cafe had a great set-up last night, and the crowds that showed up can bear that out. Scrumptious food from Cafe Lure and Armondos, wine, beer, coffee (a given!) plus DJ Phil Anthony manned the music and occasionally Johnny and friend Matthew played drums. There was even dancing on the pavement outside. When did that last happen in Downtown Renton, folks?
Friday night and South Third Street in Downtown Renton is the place to be! Liberty Cafe will be hosting their Grand Opening Celebration from 6pm - 9 pm, and all of you are invited!
If you have never been to the new little shop that graces the top of S.Third and has lent a definite "European Cafe" air to the downtown area, please do take this moment to find out what you have been missing and meet some of the town.
Joe Kennedy of Calico Cheesecake will be making some of his infamously good savory cheesecake (I could gorge myself on this heavenly party snack), possibly some Bruschetta from Armondo's, and of course beer, wine, coffee and music.
Mike Moscowitz and Johnny Uysal , owners of Liberty Cafe will be on hand to party with all of us. Don't be shy - come on by!
